Braided Flower

Or Teague (my little boy) named it The Roller Coaster.

* Start out with a half ponytail.
* In my mind a flower has five petals, so I did five braids.

* Then you pull each braid through the ponytail holder (I used my Topsytail jr.).
* Make sure that you pull the braids through, so they poke out of the center. So, from the side of the holder that is closest to the head, or farthest from you. (does that make sense?)

Piper felt like she needed to take this picture, ignore the messy counter space.

* After pulling all of the braids through, use a flat iron to curl the ends of the braids and the end of the hair left hanging down, and this is the result.

*This took about 15 minutes.

Ohhhhh I LOVE this!!!!!!!!!! And it's an action shot in your bathroom! Awesome!

HAHAHA I have to take the pics when I get a chance or I'm done for. That's why we end up in the bathroom for the end pics cuz she knows she's done and WON'T SIT.

I really love this, but I don't understand what you mean by pull the braid through the pony holder. Do you pull it back out? Sorry I am a little slow about his. Could you try to explain it to me in an email. Thanks sooo much!

Natalie, I couldn't e-mail you, but let's see if I can explain a little better - sorry, I'm definitely not the best explainer.

Just tuck the end of the braid (the rubber band) underneath part of the ponytail holder, don't pull it all the way through. just so the rubber band is right past the ponytail holder.

This is GREAT! I'm going to have to try this if my 6 year old will let me.

Suggestion on picture taking...get down more on her level so the photos are straight on instead looking down at her. I think we'd get better angles on the hairdos :)

Thanks for all you do!

Absolutely beautiful! When I did Littlest Prinesses' flower crown I wanted to make a flower in her hair & that was the best idea I came up with. This is totally more of what I wanted ~ I love it! I will definitely be trying it on a princess.

My friend told me about your blog and I will definitely be coming back.  I have a 2 1/2 year little girl with long blonde (although fine) hair and I am always trying to think of different ways to do her hair.  Thanks for sharing your ideas.

I did this on my 15 yo DD hair for church and put a flower in the middle. it turned out so cute. Thanks for the idea.

I love this! How do you get the flower to stay flower-y? When I do this on my DDs hair it flops down. Is it because her hair is too long?
